Personal details: Borne on 24th June, 1961 at Nainpur (Mandla) in MP,  graduated and post gradated (Plant Pathology) in Agriculture with Honours and doctorate from JNKVV, Jabalpur.Joined as  Jr. Scientist at RARS, JNKVV, Harda  in 1998.  Moved to  IGKV, Raipur  in 1988  as Asstt. Professor, then elevated  as Assoc. Professor in 1995, Professor in 2003, Professor and Head (Plant Pathology), IGKV, Raipur  in 2012-13 and 2006. Became Dean, SKS CARS, Rajnandgaon  in 2013-14, SK CARS, Kawardha in 2007-12. Joined as Director, Extension Services at IGKV, Raipur in May, 2014 and continuing till date.

Contribution to Society: As Zonal President  of  IPS, New Delhi in 2013, serving as Sectional Editor of “Fungal Pathology” of  Indian  Phytopath.;  served as Editor of  Indian  Phytopath.. Organised 66th Annual Meeting and National Conference of IPS at Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya (IGKV),  Raipur in 2014 as Co-Organising Secretary, Zonal Meet (Central Zone) of IPS and National Conference  at IGKV, Raipur as Organising Secretary in 2014. Life Member of IPS, New Delhi. Invited as Convener “Extension plant pathology : challenges to implementduring 6th International Conference of IPS in 2016. Organizing Committee of 6th International Conference of IPS invited me as Chairman of  “Session 19:Mushroom fungi: friend of human being”;  adjudged me as Chairman, Poster Evaluation Committee; Served as MEMBER, Advisory Committee of  6th International Conference. Served as MEMBER in the International Advisory Committee of  14th International Trichoderma and Gliocladium Workshop  in 2016. Motivated many members to become Life Member of IPS  from Central Zone. Invited by the society to deliver  Key Note Addresses during  several International/National Conferences. Invited to write  Review  Article, published several research papers in Indian Phytopath, write Book Chapters  in the publication of the society. K.C. Mehta and Manoranjan Mitra Award (2018) by IPS. 

Recipient of Merit Scholarship; ICAR-Junior & Senior Research Fellowship, ICAR, New Delhi, Visiting Fellowship of Shanghai Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Shanghai (China); Visiting Fellow of  ICRISAT at  Patancheru (A.P.); Fellowship for Training of  In Service Young Scientist in 1991 from MPCOST, Bhopal (M.P.) to work at IARI, New Delhi; As  Member, RAC of ICAR-Directorate of Mushroom Research, Solan (H.P.) from 2013-16;  “Best  Worker Award” of  IGKV, Raipur  in 2001; Life Time Achievement Award during 3rd International Conference at Management Development Institute of Singapore in 2017; Best Poster Award during International Conference on Biodiversity, Bioresources and Biotechnology in 2014 at Mysore; Brija Gopal Sharma Memorial All India Best Agriculture Extension Worker  Award–2016  by SADHNA, Solan (H.P.); “Distinguished Scientist Award” by Society for Scientific Development in Agriculture and Technology, Meerut (U.P.) in 2016; “Krushi Mauli Award – 2017” under the category of “Best Agriculture Education and Study”  during Global Agriculture Exhibition - 2017 at Nasik (MS); Award of  “Krishi Shree” by Education Minister in 2007; As Zonal Councilor of West Zone of Indian Society of Mycology and Plant Pathology, Udaipur (Raj.);  As Editor in Chief of  Journal of Agricultural Issues  published by IGKV, Raipur; As Editors of Scientific Journals like Mushroom Research, Journal of Mycology and Plant Pathology, Journal of  Agricultural Issues; As “Fellow”  of two prestigious societies, Indian Society of Mycology and Plant Pathology, Udaipur (Raj.) and Indian Society of Pulses Research and Development, Kanpur (U.P.).

Institutional Awards: Under my leadership as DES, the university bagged  two National Awards, Best KVK National Award to KVK, Dantewada in 2016; Mahindra Agri India Award (Winner) to KVK, Kanker in 2017 and 04  ICAR Best Zonal Awards to KVK, Dantewada, Ambikapur, Kanker and Korea in 2017. Awarded “Certificate of Appreciation” at the National level for submission of maximum number of farmers varieties  for registration under PPV & FRA, New Delhi.

Four Books, 102 Research Papers, 4 Review Articles,  10 book chapters, 27 Bulletins, 80 Popular Articles, guided 38 PG/Ph.D. Thesis,  presented a research paper in International Conference at Mexico & Singapore;  70 research papers as Key Note Speaker/Guest Lecture and 148 as Oral speakers/Posters in National/International Seminars; Chaired/Co-chaired dozens of International/Asian/National Seminars; handled 30 Ad-hoc Research  projects; organized 18  Kisan Mela/Zonal Conference/Western Region Fare/Exhibitions; 127 National/State Level Trainings for the entrepreneurs on Mushroom and benefitted >6500 rural youths/women/farmers/ landless labourers and provided them self  employment for income generation, attended  12 International/National Training.
