Dr. Mansoor A. Siddiqui is a Professor of Plant Nematology in the Section of Plant Pathology and Nematology, Department of Botany, Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh. He was born in 1957 and obtained Ph.D in Botany in 1986. He has been awarded Doctorate of Science (D.Sc) for his applied work in Plant Pathology & Nematology in 2008. He has a vast UG and PG teaching experience (30 years), and research experience (36 years). He has supervised 7 Ph.D., 5 M.Phil. and 21 M.Sc theses. He has contributed about 125 research publications and review articles on various aspects of Plant Pathology. He has attended about 30 National/International Conferences/ Symposia including one in Berlin, Germany., and also served as Chairman, Co-Chairman and raporteur in the Conferences. He has been elected as a Zonal Councilor, Indian Phytopathological Society (MEZ) 1996, Zonal Councilor, Nematological Society of India (Central zone) 1996-1998 and Vice President, NSI 2013-2015. During his tenure as Vice President, NSI, two Symposia were organized by the society, one at Solan (2013) and another at Pune (2015). He is life member of several scientific societies like European society of Nemtologists, Indian Phytopathological Society, Nematological Society of India, Association of Plant Pathology of India, Indian Botanical Society, Bioved Research Society and Indian Society of Remote Sensing.
