Announcement for IPS Award 2019

Indian Phytopathological Society invites application for Fellow (FPSI) and awards of the Society for the year 2019-20. Last date of receip of application: 30th June 2018

1. Mundkur Memorial Award

An active senior member of the Society of good  standing who is above 50 years in age and has made outstanding contributions in the field of Mycology (including Industrial/Medical Mycology) and Plant Pathology in general to cover all its disciplines recognized by the Society.

2. S.N. Dasgupta Memorial Award

An active senior member of the Society of good  standing who is above 45 years in age and has made outstanding contributions in the field of Mycology (including Industrial/Medical Mycology) and Plant Pathology in general to cover all its disciplines recognized by the Society.

3. M.K. Patel Memorial Young Scientist Award

The award proposed to be given annually to any individual in recognition of his/her professional contribution in Plant Pathology, is opened to the members of the Society who are not more than 40 years of age as on 31stDecember of the year. The work done for any degree or diploma shall not be considered within the purview of contribution for this award. The Award will be delivered annually in the Zonal Symposium of respective zones from which the awardee is selected. The awardee will be felicitated in the National Symposium.

4. J.F. Dastur Memorial Award

All research workers engaged in the field of plant pathological research and/or teaching at all the Institutions throughout the country shall be eligible for the award. The Award will be delivered annually in the Zonal Symposium of respective zones from which the awardee is selected. The awardee will be felicitated in the National Symposium.

5. A.K. Sarbhoy Memorial Award

All research workers actively engaged in the field of plant pathological research and/or teaching at all the Institutions throughout the country shall be eligible for the award. The award shall be made for significant basic or applied research leading to results of practical importance in the field of plant pathology preferably in Mycology.

6. Sharda Lele Memorial Award

IPS members, engaged in leading areas of plant pathology research throughout the country shall be eligible for the award. The award shall be made for significant basic or applied research leading to results of practical importance in the field of plant pathology preferably on “Diseases of Fruits and Vegetables”.

7. K.C. Mehta and Manoranjan Mitra Award

All research workers, having at least 10 year of standing as IPS member, engaged in leading areas of plant pathology research throughout the country shall be eligible for the award. This award is for writing thought provoking Review Article newer/emerging/issues/challenges in any field of Plant Pathology which will be published in Indian Phytopathology.

8. D.P. Misra and R.N. Pandey IPS Best Women Scientist Award

Candidate should have atleast 10 years of Life Membership of the Society and holding permanent position. There will be no age limit for the candidate.

9. B.N. Chakraborty and Usha Chakraborty IPS  Best Teacher Award

Teachers/Scientists of minimum 50 years of age, holding permanent position and 10 years of IPS Life Membership.All teachers/ scientists are eligible provided they take an annual average of 32 (ICAR) and 96 (University) hours lectures per year in undergraduate/post-graduate in UGC recognized University/ Deemed to be University and have minimum of 10 years’ experience in teaching.

10. Fellow of Indian Phytopathological Society (FPSI)

All research workers, having atleast 10 year of standing as IPS member, engaged in leading areas of plant pathology research throughout the country shall be eligible for the award.

General Instruction
  1. In a year either the nomination for Fellowship or an application for an Award only will be considered and not for both, in respect of an eligible member.
  2. Maximum number of award to a single person should not be more than 2 except FPSI.
  3. Five years will be cooling period for applying any awards except FPSI.
  4. Cut-off marks for all the awards will be 70% and 60% for FPSI. If two person get equal marks then award will be given to the senior person on age basis
  5. The award result shall be announced at the annual meeting of the Society.
  6. The Society will inform the recipient of his selection and request him/her to deliver a lecture in the next annual meeting of the Society or to write review papers as per norms of the award. The lecture be printed in the Journal (Indian Phytopathology) and it should be not exceed 15 printed pages.
  7. If a person selected for the lecture award is unable to deliver the lecture due to illness or other unavoidable circumstances during that year, he/she may deliver the lecture in the following year. However, the award will lapse, if he/she is unable to come for the lecture in the following year also.
  1. The Society shall have the sole right of formulation of rules governing such selection and selection of the recipient of the award.
  2. The nomination will be made in each award at least by TWO Fellows in the prescribed proforma in a year, a Fellow can make not more than TWO nomination. Nomination once made shall remain valid for three years. Self nominations are not acceptable.

  4. All the supporting documents are required for each claim.

  6. Application: The intending applicants are required to submit 2 Copies of application to Secretary, Indian Phytopathologigcal Society, Division of Plant Pathology, Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi 110012, INDIA, on or before 30th June 2018.
