Scientist, Division of Plant Pathology, ICAR-IARI, New Delhi received his M.Sc.
(Agri) from Assam Agricultural University, Jorhat in 1989 and Ph.D. in Plant
Pathology from ICAR-Indian Agricultural Research Institute in 1997. He joined
College of Agriculture, AAU, Jorhat as Assistant Professor in 1990. Later he
joined IARI as Senior Scientist in 2006. He has earned vast professional
experience in teaching, research (specialization in fungal pathology) and
extension from 28 years of active service.He had exposure visits in various agricultural institutions of India and
other countries including Canada, China, Thailand and Nepal. He executed
sincere service to ICAR as Nodal Officer of IARI-Assam from January 2015 to
July, 2017. He has published more than 80 research
papers in high impact journals, 5 books, 27 book chapters and a number of
popular articles. In his credit he has 2 patents (nano-hexaconazole and
nano-sulphur) and 4 maize varieties (ASKH1, APQH7, APQH5 and APH27). He has guided 5 M.Sc. and 3 Ph.D.
students as a Chairperson, 35 students as Co-Chairperson and member. He has
received many awards like Cash Prize of Gujarat Agro- Industries Corporation

Councillor (North-eastern chapter, 2002), Zonal President (Delhi chapter, 2013)
and Associate Editor (2012-16). He is continuing his truthful overhaul to the
Society as Joint Secretary and Senior Editor of Indian Phytopath News.
