Significant Achievements: Identified blast resistant sources (registered two rice germplasm with NBPGR, New Delhi, INGR19037 and INGR19038). Race profiling of Magnaporthe oryzae isolates from Himalyan region on monogenic blast differentials was done and identified effective R genes Pita2, Piz5 and Pizt for management of blast disease. I was also involved in CVRC notified varieties of finger millet (VL Mandua 376, VL Mandua 379) and maize (VL maize hybrid 57, VL sweet corn hybrid 2) with resistance to blast and turcicum leaf blight respectively.
