Dr. Susanta Banik studied B.Sc. (Ag.) from BCKV, Nadia; M.Sc. (Ag.) Plant Pathology from ANGRAU, Hyderabad and Ph.D in Plant Pathology from IARI, New Delhi. He enjoyed several scholarships (BCKV Merit scholarship) and fellowships (ICAR JRF, CSIR-JRF) during the study period. He has authored six books, 13 book chapters, several popular articles and many research articles in reputed journals. He has been conferred ‘KC Mehta and Manoranjan Mitra Award’ by Indian Phytopathological Society. He is life member of some reputed national and international journals. He is also a member of editorial board in an international journal and reviewer of some national journals. He has visited Spain on receiving DBT Overseas Research Associateship. He is at present actively engaged in research projects and teaching various courses of Plant Pathology at UG and PG level as well as guiding M.Sc. and Ph.D. students in their research at Nagaland University.
